It was so much fun giving this to my little guy and reliving a little bit my childhood with him and the number of things you can learn with it still amazes me. While I don’t have the Game Boy version to pass down to my kids, I figured this would be a pretty good substitute! Tetris is most definitely “old school” and is a game I loved playing when I was growing up. I want them to love learning (even math) and after spending quite a few hours playing with these printable Tetris pieces and finding different ways to create shapes and patterns, I would say, with this activity at least, we were successful. Even though we’re still in the preschool stage, I try my best to make sure that learning those early math concepts is both fun and engaging so that my children will enjoy at least a little more than I did :) With my own kids however, that is something I want to change. Yes, I realize that it is necessary and yes, I realize that it is something we use, in some shape or form, every single day, but knowing that hasn’t ever made it any more fun to study. Out of all of the subjects that I learned throughout my school career, math was probably my absolute least favorite.
